DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN ASIA

The 7th Congress of the Association of Asian Universities opened at Kazan Federal University on May 26–28, 2026. It is being held jointly with the Russian-Chinese Pedagogical Congress and the 12th International Forum on Teacher Education (IFTE-2026).
A delegation from the Karaganda Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, led by Professor G.B. Sarzhanova, Director of the Institute of Continuous Education, is participating in this international forum. Along with young scientists from the university, the delegation is actively participating in the forum's coordination meetings, expert panels, and discussion panels.
A report entitled "Psychological Resilience and Professional Well-Being of Teachers: New Challenges and Risks" was presented at IFTE-2026.
The forum's participants will focus on the development of higher education in Asia, the digital transformation of universities, and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the educational environment. The congress program brought together relevant topics (May 26):
Artificial Intelligence and Universities: Challenges and Practices;
Digital Transformation of Higher Education;
AI in Teaching; International Scientific and Educational Cooperation; New Approaches to Training the Specialists of the Future.
The 12th International Forum on Teacher Education (IFTE-2026) is being held on the theme (May 27-28): "Teacher Training and Artificial Intelligence: University Cases."
The key areas of the forum are:
Digital Transformation of Education and New Roles of Teachers;
Modern Models of 21st-Century Teacher Training;
University Practices for Working with Artificial Intelligence;
Psychological Resilience and Professional Well-Being of Teachers;
Psychological Safety of Students in the Digital Environment;
AI in Inclusive Education;
Integration of Traditions and Innovations in Youth Education.
The forum is particularly significant because it is held within the 2026-2027 timeframe of Russian-Chinese cooperation in education. Representatives from universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, China, and other countries are participating in the expert sessions, including IFTE 2026 organizers Northeast Normal University and Liaoning Normal University.
The experience, international contacts, and practical solutions gained during the forum will undoubtedly help educators adapt the educational process to the digital transformation, implement modern AI tools in teaching, and build effective mechanisms for psychological and academic support for students and faculty.
