The presentation of the National Report "Kazakhstani Families – 2024.

On December 12, 2024, the presentation of the National Report "Kazakhstani Families – 2024" took place in Astana. The event is organized by the Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dean of Philosophy and Psychology, PhD, Assistant Professor Makatov A.D. is one of the authors of the report.

The national report covers such topics as: socio-demographic characteristics of Kazakhstani families and issues of family planning, reproductive behavior, marriage and divorce among Kazakhstanis. At the same time, family and marriage relations in the Republic of Kazakhstan are analyzed in the context of values, modern media consumption practices, as well as addictive disorders and their impact on family relations.

As part of the preparation of the national report, a mass survey was conducted with a sample of 3,000 people, 40 in-depth and 10 expert interviews, and data from the Bureau of National Statistics and government agencies were used.

The report provides practical recommendations for improving family policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The report is based on data from sociological research, official statistics, analysis of legislation and international experience.

The event was attended by representatives of central government agencies and the scientific community, members of international organizations and NGOs, as well as a consortium of research organizations in the field of family, gender and demographic policy.

At the end of the meeting, the participants exchanged views and made suggestions on the topics contained in the report.
