The "Practical course of foreign language" department was formed in January 2023 with the aim of optimizing the educational process and is focused on the practical component of training specialists in foreign languages.
The department has a teaching staff in several foreign languages. Practical English is taught for students of the 1st year of the educational program 6B01705 – Foreign language: two foreign languages.
In addition, in September 2024, the department introduced two innovative educational programs: 6B01709-Foreign Languages (English) and 6B01708-English Language.
French, German, Turkish, and Chinese are taught as a second foreign language for students of the following educational programs:
6B01705 – Foreign language: two foreign languages
6B02303 - Foreign Philology
6B02301 –TranslationStudies
6В01709-Foreign languages (English).
Qualified teaching staff who have completed internships in the countries of the studied languages and have international certificates confirming a high level of proficiency in foreign languages provide the educational process.

The Department annually hosts international specialists in the field of foreign language education who teach English, Turkish, and French:
Turkish language instructors under the Embassy of Türkiye in the Republic of Kazakhstan’s “Interministerial Joint Culture Commission Program”:
• Asuman Ergun (Hacettepe University, Turkey) (2022–2025);
• ÇidemBekar Kurt (DokuzEylul University, Turkey) (2022–2026);
• Burak Korkmaz (Ankara Hazi Bayram Veli University, Turkey) from 2023 to the present;
• Zehra Bayir (Aksaray University, Türkiye) from 2025 to the present;
• SeçkinSarpkaya (Ege University, Türkiye) from 2025 to the present.
English Language Instructor:
• John Maruschak under the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan’s English Language Fellow Program (USA) (2024–2026).
French Language Instructors:
• Victoria Mathilde Gaujon (Université Paris Cité, France) (2023–2024);
• Helene Garnier (National Institute of Oriental Languages and Cultures, Paris, France) (2024–2025);
• Paul Murat (Université Bordeaux Montaigne, France) (2025–2026).
The Department maintains close cooperation with international organizations, including the French Alliance of Karaganda, the Goethe-Institut, and the Embassy of Turkey in Kazakhstan. Various joint events are organized to foster students’ interest in learning multiple foreign languages and to promote their awareness of foreign cultures.
At present, the Department places great emphasis on developing a high-quality educational and methodological support base, continues to prepare teaching and methodological packages for its academic disciplines, and produces original printed and electronic educational publications.
