On November 14, the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov held the grand opening of an auditorium named after Academician Salyk Zimanovich Zimanov.
Rector N.O. Dulatbekov delivered the welcoming address:
"One could talk for hours about Salyk Zimanov—his name personifies an entire era in legal science. He was and remains its symbol. It is worth noting that Salyk Zimanov played a huge, truly historic role in the development of our university's Faculty of Law. But his contribution extended far beyond the university—it is a contribution to the development of national legal thought as a whole. Since 1972, his students have studied here, within the walls of our university. He has nurtured a whole constellation of outstanding scholars. "His work exemplifies service to the Fatherland and dedication to science. I sincerely congratulate everyone on this momentous occasion!"
The event was attended by the scientist's relatives – Mukhtar Salykovich, Ermek Mukhtarovich, and Zhanat Dzhusupovna – as well as academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, doctors of law, his students, faculty, and students of the Faculty of Law.
Following the auditorium opening ceremony, a roundtable discussion was held dedicated to Salyk Zimanovich's scientific legacy. Participants discussed his contribution to the development of legal science, his role in the formation of Kazakhstan's legal school, and the establishment of a state governed by the rule of law.
