The Department of Finance of the Faculty of Economics at Karaganda Buketov University has successfully concluded the International Distance Student Research Competition “FinTech Industry: Trends, Challenges, and Growth Directions.” The competition brought together talented students, young researchers, and academic supervisors from universities in Kazakhstan and abroad, creating a vibrant platform for scientific dialogue and the exchange of innovative ideas in the field of financial technologies.
The competition was organized to encourage research activity among students, promote creative and critical thinking, and strengthen professional competencies in one of the fastest-growing areas of the global economy. Financial technologies continue to reshape the way financial services are delivered, creating new opportunities while also presenting new challenges for governments, businesses, and society. Against this backdrop, the competition sought to inspire students to explore emerging trends and contribute fresh perspectives to the ongoing digital transformation of the financial sector.

The submitted papers underwent a comprehensive peer-review process conducted by an expert panel of academics and specialists. Entries were evaluated based on the relevance of the topic, scientific novelty, originality of ideas, theoretical and practical significance, methodological rigor, analytical depth, and compliance with academic integrity standards.
The quality of the submissions demonstrated the high intellectual potential of today’s students. Many participants presented innovative approaches and practical recommendations addressing pressing issues in digital finance, sustainable development, cybersecurity, and technological modernization. The competition once again confirmed that young researchers are actively contributing to discussions on the future of the global financial system.
