On February 17, 2022, the results of the III International Distance Olympiad by the specialty “Tourism” were summed up, organized by the Department of Marketing and the Institute for Digital Economy Research of the Buketov Karaganda University. The number of participants in the Olympiad in this year was 51 (18 teams), represented by students and undergraduates of domestic universities, as well as Russia and Belarus.
The participants approached the tasks creatively, because for the first round it was necessary to present a “Photo Project” of their native land, demonstrating the tourism potential in this format. In the second round, students and undergraduates had to prepare a video on the proposed areas, among which the following aroused particular interest among the participating teams:
- “Domestic car tourism, staycation - trends in the post-quarantine period”;
- “Film production as a tool for promoting tourist destinations”;
- “Possibilities of chatbots in the development of tourism in Kazakhstan”;
- “Tools for the introduction and promotion of a thematic author's tour”;
- “Possibilities of Google Maps Live View with augmented reality in the development of tourism”, etc.
In accordance with the final result, the prizes in the direction of “Photo Project” were distributed as follows:
1st place:
- The team of the students “Double AN” of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (Republic of Belarus) with the following members: Lomako Anna Alexandrovna, Shinkevich Anastasia Pavlovna.
Scientific leader: Chuvak Svetlana Viktorovna – Master of Economics and Management, Senior Lecturer.
2st place:
-The team of master’s students “Constellation” of the Karaganda Buketov University (Republic of Kazakhstan) with the following members: Satybaldinova Aygerim Aytpayevna, Bimende Anel Sakenovna.

3st place:
- The team of students “LUNN travel” of the Linguistics University of Nizhny Novgorod (Russian Federation) with the following members: Breus Anna Alexandrovna, Batusheva Valeria Romanovna, Gladkov Mark Glebovich.
Scientific leader: Smirnova Irina Pavlovna - Senior Lecturer of the Department of Advertising, Public Relations and Tourism.
- The team of students “AURA” of the “Turan-Astana” University (Republic of Kazakhstan) with the following members: Pak Ekaterina, Baimbayeva Kulyash, Nauryzova Zhania.
Scientific Leader: Atikeeva Sairan Nikolaevna – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor.
In accordance with the final result, the prizes in the direction of “Video Project” were distributed as follows:
