On May 21–22, 2026, Seifullin University is hosting a regional Erasmus+ event in Astana. It is organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency.
The event program includes:
A regional Erasmus+ information day dedicated to the program's impact on the development of higher education in Central Asian countries;
An international conference, "Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education," will discuss current trends in the implementation of AI in educational processes, the digital transformation of universities, and the prospects for innovative learning.
The event will be attended by:
Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Laura Paluanova, National Coordinator of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan.
Representing the Karaganda National Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov at the event are:
Gulnar Muratovna Baigozhina, Chief of the Rector's Office;
Ainura Kaiyrzhanovna Tusupbekova, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Radiophysics and Electronics;
Dinara Armiyevna Turmuratova, Doctoral Candidate in the Digital Pedagogy program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology.
During the event, university representatives will present scientific and international educational projects aimed at developing artificial intelligence technologies, digitalizing higher education, and strengthening international academic cooperation.
One of the projects presented is the research project
"AP23487789 Artificial Intelligence Technologies for the Implementation of Adaptive Personalized Learning in Higher Education." The project manager is Dinara Ashubasarovna Kazimova, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the E.A. Buketov KarNIU.
The project is being implemented with the support of a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024–2026.
Also featured is the international Erasmus+ project
"Edu-Fusion Network for Sustainable Growth / EDUFUSION NSG" (101179805 - ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE), aimed at modernizing Kazakhstan's higher education system, developing STEAM programs, entrepreneurial competencies, and strengthening interactions between universities and industry.
The project aims to create an innovative educational ecosystem, including:
online learning;
development of digital and pedagogical technologies;
training teachers according to international standards;
development of sustainable mechanisms for cooperation between the academic community and employers.
The project is being implemented by a consortium of universities from Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and European Union countries, including partners from Portugal and Spain.
Maria-Sol Dominguez Parrado, project officer for the European Educational and Cultural Executive Agency (EACEA) and an expert with the monitoring group for "Strengthening Higher Education Potential" in Central Asia, visited Buketov University's exhibition table.
The event is an important platform for exchanging experiences, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting innovative approaches in higher education.
