Ministry of Science and Higher Education on the base of Nazarbayev University

On January 15–16, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education on the base of Nazarbayev University held the Republican Forum “Ensuring the Quality of Higher Education: Current Status and Development Perspectives”. The intensive program of the first day included presentations by experts from international accreditation agencies, workshops on working with stakeholders, and seminars on education quality assurance. The acute problems of academic, scientific, and social life of higher education institutions were discussed during a meeting with university rectors and vice-rectors. The strengths and weaknesses of universities, the effectiveness of departmental work, changes in regulatory acts, etc. were noted. The second day included thematic sessions on assessing the quality of research outcomes, ensuring the quality of the state regulatory system in education, and a plenary session with the Minister of Science and Higher Education. The forum concluded with the development of measures aimed at strengthening quality in the higher education system and creating effective mechanisms for evaluating educational and research activities.
