INTERNATIONAL FORUM: DISCUSSION OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Today, the forum "Psychological and Pedagogical Competencies of Students in Higher Education as a Resource for Strengthening the Nation's Mental Health" was held at Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.
The forum brought together scientists, teachers, psychologists, university representatives, and students from various regions of Kazakhstan, as well as international experts from the United States, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation. Twenty-four teachers from Mongolia, currently completing an internship at Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov, participated in the event.
The discussion focused on issues of student psychological well-being, the development of psychological competencies, student support in the university environment, inclusive education, and the challenges of the digital age. Participants paid special attention to the mental health of young people, the use of artificial intelligence in education, and the search for effective mechanisms for psychological support for students. In addition to the plenary session and panel discussions, participants learned about the work of the university's social and psychological research laboratory, the Center for Psychological Support of Educational Activities, and other practical platforms.
We thank all the speakers, participants, and partners of the forum for their insightful dialogue, new ideas, and willingness to collaborate on strengthening the mental health of young people and developing modern higher education.
