INFORMATION LETTER

The E.A. Buketov Karaganda University, Department of Fine Arts and Design at the Faculty of Education, is organizing the Regional Olympiad for 10th-11th grade students in the subjects "Fine Arts" and "Drawing". This Olympiad is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of academician E.A. Buketov. The Olympiad will take place on April 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Only educational institutions that have submitted their applications to the organizing committee on time will be eligible to participate. The Olympiad will be held in both Kazakh and Russian languages. The I round (selection, school-level) will be held at secondary educational institutions. The II round (final) of the Olympiad will be held at the Department of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Education, E.A. Buketov Karaganda University. The Olympiad is open to students from general education schools, art schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, and boarding schools in Karaganda city and the region who have passed the I round (school-level selection). A maximum of 4 participants from each school can take part (2 participants in Fine Arts and 2 participants in Drawing). A group leader is mandatory. Participants must bring all the necessary materials for the practical tasks, such as: - For "Fine Arts": pencils, pins, ink, watercolor, gouache, oil, acrylic, sanguine, pastel, etc.; - For "Drawing": drawing tools (compass, ruler, eraser, triangles, H and HB pencils, sharpener, etc.). Task description: - **"Fine Arts"**: Each participant must create a composition in the technique of graphic art or painting on the theme "Evney Buketov: science, art, creativity" (A2 format). - **"Drawing"**: The task is to draw an object (front view, top view, left view) based on a given frontal cross-section and top view dimensions, and to create a rectangular isometry of the object with the front quarter cut-out (A3 format). Applications to participate in the Olympiad (Appendix 1), certified by the head of the school, must be submitted by April 15, 2025. Travel expenses for teachers and accompanying staff will be paid by the sending educational institutions. Winners and prizewinners of the Olympiad will receive diplomas.
