On March 27, 2023 was held the Republican scientific-practical conference organized by the Department of pedagogy and methodology of primary education of Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov on the theme: «Theory and practice of formation of functional literacy of school students».
The purpose of the conference is to organize a discussion platform and exchange experiences on the formation of functional literacy of school students.

Within the framework of the plenary session, reports were made by: Abildina S.K., Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of pedagogy and methodology of primary education, research Professor; Laverzhentseva E.V., Acting head of the methodological office of the Department of уducation of Karaganda; Mukhametzhanova A.O., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of pedagogy and methodology of primary education; Misyurina N.M., Director of MPI «School-lyceum №66» of Karaganda; Chernushenko N.E., Head of the teaching department, primary school teacher of MPI «School-lyceum №66» of Karaganda; Moldabayeva Zh.S., Head of the teaching department, teacher of Kazakh language and literature of MPI «School-lyceum №66» of Karaganda; Odintsova S.A., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department of pedagogy and methodology of primary education of Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov.
Along with this, their views on the problem of formation of functional literacy of school students have presented more than 300 school teachers, university and college teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates and students of almost all regions and cities of our republic, and a number of neighboring countries, including: Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank, Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Karaganda University named after academician E.A. Buketov, Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after A. Margulan, Ilyas Zhansugurov Zhetysu University, Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov, Zhezkazgan Humanities College and others.
The scientific articles presented theoretical and practical results obtained during the use of various forms, methods and tools, techniques and technologies for the formation of functional literacy of school students, and recommendations for preparing future teachers for this type of activity.
