On October 26-27 Karaganda Buketov University was visited by QS Quacquarelli Symonds representatives - the senior consultant of QS with extensive experience in higher education, MBA Kesh Patel and the regional representative of QS in Central Asia and the Caucasus, an expert in higher education with work experience in companies such as Thompson Reuters, Yandex and Nazarbayev University Dara Bukhtoyarova.
On the first day QS representatives held such workshops as "Preparation for the 2024 rating cycle" and "Best practices for strengthening and developing the reputation of an international university." The workshops were attended by members of the University Board, deans of faculties and heads of structural divisions. The criteria changes being made in the QS World University Ranking and the inclusion of Kazakhstani universities in QS Asia Ranking which is a fundamentally new ranking for our country.
On the second day of the visit of our guests, three meetings with focus groups were held. At the meetings, Mr. Patel and Mrs. Bukhtoyarova had a talk with the management, staff and academics of the university in order to get acquainted with various business processes of Karaganda Buketov University. Based on the results of these meetings, our colleagues from QS will prepare a Plan for promoting KBU in the world rankings. We look forward to fruitful cooperation with our colleagues from the UK and believe that our alma mater will continue to develop, work and rise up higher in the world and regional rankings.
