On 22.09.23 – 24.09.23 the Faculty of Foreign Languages organized a language school «Language Open-Air» within the framework of non-formal education with the departure of students to the study area of Karkaraly. «Language Open-Air» language school is a complex of educational and cultural events held for students outside the walls of the university. It acts as a means of activation of students’ learning activities and an experimental platform in foreign language learning. The aim of the Language Open-Air Language School is to develop foreign language communicative skills of students, to realize the principle of lifelong learning, to form soft skills.
The program of the language school included practical classes with the use of interactive forms of learning foreign languages, which show new opportunities in the process of learning the material related to the establishment of interpersonal interaction through external dialogue. During three days students together with teachers, foreign lecturers S. Harrison (assistant of Fulbright English Teaching program), C. Kurt, guest lecturer from Turkey, senior lecturer of the Department of the theory and methodology of foreign language training Tazhibayeva E.R. intensively studied Turkish and English languages through self-presentation, participation in the game “What is it? Who is it?”, performing situational tasks and group works, exchanging opinions about culture, traditions, customs, watching a documentary movie and reflection. Despite some inconveniences, the event was a success!
The organization of the event was carried out within the framework of the scientific project №AP19678268 "Scientific and methodological foundations for the implementation of professional foreign language training in the convergence of formal and informal higher education" under the grant funding of the Committee on Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
