On the territory of the Faculty of Biology and Geography of the Karaganda University of Buketov, a unique underground greenhouse is being built. Room parameters: 6 meters - depth, 45 meters - length, 5 meters - width.
The construction is carried out by the company "SK New city". As its representative, Nurlan Tileukulov, noted, the premises will house a research room and an underground greenhouse.
“This is a unique large-scale project designed for the northern regions. The underground temperature in the building will be optimal. According to the schedule, construction work must be completed before September 1 of this year. However, we plan to hand over the object earlier closer to the month of August. We have a great responsibility to the customer,” he says.
A Chinese crane weighing about 5 tons is involved in the work. After pouring the walls, finishing work began with the use of insulating materials. In addition, the Arboretum appeared on the territory of the faculty - an area allotted for the cultivation of woody plants in the open ground.
On an area of about 2 hectares, 735 trees of coniferous and broad-leaved plants were planted - pyramidal poplar in the amount of 200 pieces, 60 willows, as well as spruce, birch, Tatar maple, broad-leaved maple, apple trees, lilac, hawthorn, wild apple trees, etc. All plants are meticulously cared for.
