On June 28, 2023, the 20th anniversary ranking of the best universities in the world - QS World University Ranking was published, in which 21 Kazakhstani universities took part.
The QS WUR 2024 rating was conducted according to a new methodology, which has nine indicators – three more than in previous years.
According to the official information of the QS WUR representative office, new indicators "Index of international scientific collaborations", "Sustainable Development Goals", "Achievements of graduates", as well as a decrease in the weight of the indicator "Ratio of the number of teachers and students" led to a decrease in the average position of almost all universities of Kazakhstan, participating in this rating.
However, Karaganda Buketov University is the only university in the top ten Kazakhstani universities that has improved its position in this ranking, demonstrating positive dynamics according to the criteria "Reputation among employers", "Share of foreign teachers" and "Ratio of the number of teachers and students".
