Development of Informal Mediation for Young People was opened at the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology

A branch of the Center for the Development of Informal Mediation for Young People was opened at the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology with the support of the Eurasia Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Political Science and Sociology. Project coordinator Veronika Perova, a Sociology student and head of the NGO Ongar, heard about mediation for the first time at the events of the House of Friendship and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and, as she says, "realized that reducing conflict and aggressiveness among young people through prevention and negotiation training is very relevant now."

"The project is a social startup," says professional mediator, co–director of the project, assistant professor, Ph.D. Injigolyan Anzhela Alvanovna – now we are conducting trainings to train informal mediators for young people, then after the end of the project we will open an informal training center. We thank our university, the dean of the faculty and the head of the department for supporting the project!!!
