A team of 3-4 year students of the Chemistry Faculty of Karaganda Buketov University in the period from February 27 to 29, 2024 took part in the International Subject Olympiad for students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries - “Physchemist-2024”. A team of students took part in this Olympiad under the leadership of Alfiya Faridovna Kurmanova, PhD., Professor of the Department of Physical and Analytical Chemistry Karaganda Buketov University. Olympiad was named after Professor Ospanov H.K., and took place as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi KazNU.
Students from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Karaganda Buketov University, Kozybayev North Kazakhstan University, as well as Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaly Arabaev (KSU, Bishkek) took part in the Olympiad.
At the opening of the Olympiad, a parting speech was given by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Ph.D., Associate Professor A.K. Galeeva, Head of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor E.A. Aubakirov, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry Tusupbekova A.S. and one of the sponsors of the Olympiad - Master of Science Kazakbaev S.T., Director of ALEMTRADE LLP.
Olympiad was held in 2 stages: the first stage included 30 test questions that had to be answered in 30 minutes; the second stage included 3 calculated tasks, 180 minutes were allocated for completion.
Based on the results of two rounds, students of our university took prizes and received cash certificates from sponsors:
- 2nd place - student of group FH-42 - Polyakova V.;
- 3rd place - student of the Xe-42 group - Bakhytzhanova Zh.;
- 3rd place - student of group FH-32 - Fischer T.
Certificates of participation and valuable gifts were presented to students: Zarina Onaeva (TFP-30r-21 group), Inabat Zhaisanbaeva (Xe-31k-21 group), Darige Zhanbyrbaeva (Xe-31k-21 group).
