On May 13, 2022 a meeting «Prevention of religious extremism and terrorism in social networks» for the first-year student of Educational programs 6В02201 – Philosophy и 6В02202 – Religious Studies was organized in Museum of Religious Studies by the Senior Lecturer Donetskaya N.A. The meeting was held with the invited specialist of the State Institution "Department for Religious Affairs of the Karaganda region" Abdrakhmanova M.K. and a specialist of the MSI "Center for the Study and Analysis of Problems of Interfaith Relations in the Karaganda Region of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Karaganda Region" Metriveli K.V.
It was noted that extremist organizations use the Internet to spread ideas of a destructive nature. The main danger is an attempt to influence the minds of young people in order to spread extremist ideology.
During the meeting, information on the forms of countering extremism and terrorism, methods of preventing religious extremism in social networks were presented. An analysis of the main provisions of the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 15, 2018 No. 124. "On approval of the State Program to counter religious extremism and terrorism in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2018-2022" was given as well.
During the meeting a videoclip on the work of the State Institution "Department for Religious Affairs of the Karaganda Region" and KSU "Center for the Study and Analysis of Problems of Interfaith Relations in the Karaganda Region of the Department for Religious Affairs of the Karaganda Region" was shown.
