"25-27 ноября 2024 года на базе Карагандинского индустриального университета проходил хакатон"

On November 25-27, 2024, on the basis of the Karaganda Industrial University, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with JSC "Qarmet", a scientific and technical Hackathon was held on the topic "Liquid-phase processes of non-blast furnace production of iron and steel as a promising technology for the development of ferrous metallurgy in Kazakhstan-2030".

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek opened the hackathon, emphasizing the importance of interaction between science and large-scale industry for the modernization of production.

- On the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, we are directing scientific efforts to the needs of large industrial enterprises. We started with the mining and metallurgical industry, because this is the basis of the economy. Our goal is to unite scientific teams with industrial enterprises and find innovative solutions that will help improve processes and increase efficiency. In particular, the Qarmet metallurgical plant will receive solutions for outdated technological problems, and scientists will receive clearly formulated scientific and technical tasks, - said the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek.

Scientists from the Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov took an active part in the Hackathon. On the first day, two round tables were held to discuss current and future challenges in the development of Qarmet JSC and formulate scientific tasks.

The second day resulted in a presentation of prototypes and design solutions in the areas of the Hackathon. On November 27, at the end of the event, a tour of the Qarmet JSC workshop was held for the participants.
