Obtaining higher education has been, remains and will be one of the most important stages in a person's life, especially in the modern world, with its fierce competition in the job market. Education is the major priority and the main indicator of human capital development in all civilized countries of the world. Today, the education system faces the task of creating the necessary conditions for obtaining high-quality education aimed at the formation, development and professional establishment of an individual on the basis of national and universal values, achievements of science and practice. The government therefore pursues a policy of increasing the independence of educational organizations and democratizing education management. Effective management of the university is impossible without the use of risk management.
Risk management is the process of identifying, assessing and managing risks that may threaten the company's activities and profits. The risk factors may be economic instability, requirement non-compliance, the human factor, technological problems, strategic planning errors, accidents, natural disasters, etc.
Risk management is a fairly new management process for Karaganda Buketov University and its implementation has become a huge step forward for the development of the university and its business processes. At the moment, the risk management process has been successfully implemented in the work of the structural divisions of the University. The management of risks associated with educational, scientific, educational, cultural and other areas of the university's activities are being conducted. Risk managers of structural divisions determine the business processes most exposed to risks, and carry out the work on their management.
The university management has high hopes for risk management and its contribution to the development of KBU, as the introduction of the risk management process into the activities of structural units makes it possible to conduct a more detailed analysis of business process operations, which in turn will allow fixing and minimizing operational errors.
The Department for Quality Assurance and Risk Assessment, a new structural unit responsible for risk management at Karaganda University, whose tasks include the introduction and improvement, organization and coordination of the risk management process at the university; maintaining a database of realized risks, tracking external factors that may have a significant impact on risks; development, implementation and updating (if necessary) of the methodological framework, policies, risk management rules, risk monitoring procedures; ensuring the integration of risk management into other business processes and the development of a risk management culture at the university; providing methodological and consulting support to university employees on risk management issues, etc.
In the near future, the Department for Quality Assurance and Risk Assessment of the University of Buketov plans to introduce risk management into the business processes of the university faculties, which will allow the university management to systematize the risks of business processes, minimize damages from their possible consequences and make recommendations to improve the university's work in the context of its sustainable development.
