Six Thinking Hats is a system of thought organization developed by Edward de Bono, which describes tools for structuring group discussion and individual mental activity using six colored hats. The Six Hats method provided a means of planning a detailed, consistent and, as a result, more effective group thought process.

The purpose of this technique is to teach people to better understand the peculiarities of their thinking, control their way of thinking and more accurately correlate it with the tasks set in order to use the thinking process more effectively when solving problems.

This method involves the creation of problematic situations and their resolution in the course of joint activities of students and the teacher, with optimal independence of students and under the general guidance of the teacher. The method allows you to teach how to change the type of thinking and activity depending on the task, gives you the opportunity to focus on performing certain operations. A teacher, solving a certain educational task, can build his sequence of activities in the classroom under the brims of six hats, the order of use of which is determined based on the task being solved.
