THE BEST TEAM "ZHANYM"

The KVN team "Zhanym" from Buketov Karaganda University, consisting entirely of girls, became the champion of the official KVN league "Irtysh" for the 2024 season of the International Union of KVN and received an invitation to the 36th International Sochi Festival "KiVin 2025." According to team leader Alina Nasyrova, "Zhanym" represented the mining capital, Karaganda, at the event in Pavlodar. This is the only team that made it through the season and successfully reached the finals. "In the finals, we competed against experienced opponents, but our efforts paid off. After four competitions, the “Zhanym” team scored 14 points, leading other teams by a whole point. Sometimes, championship fate is decided by hundredths of a point. More than 15 teams participated in the season, and five made it to the finals. The representatives of Buketov University entered the top five and became champions. 'KVN is always a game of emotions. You have to go through several edits and fine-tune every joke. Perhaps the brightest emotion is that the team has existed for only a year, while its members have been performing for 5 to 10 years. This championship was the long-awaited achievement we have been striving for over the years. When we learned of our victory, we couldn't hold back our tears, and these feelings are indescribable,' adds team captain Ksenia Mirzoeva. Today, the team received an invitation to the 36th International Sochi Festival "KiVin 2025," which annually features more than 500 teams. “Our goal is to go, perform, showcase ourselves, work with experienced editors, attend a series of master classes from Champions of the top league, and achieve the best possible results. Although KVN will take place in January, after the New Year, this upcoming event is kind of a summary. We will go to Sochi with our best material. Naturally, it will be refined and adjusted to ensure the timeliness of the jokes, but the core, which is 80-90% of the performances, is already there”, adds Alina Nasyrova. Recently, the girls returned from Novosibirsk, where the festival of the official league "Siberia" took place, and the "Zhanym" team was automatically invited to the new season. The girls successfully overcame this hurdle as well. Today, "Siberia" is a strong league, and its alumni can be seen on both Channel One and TNT. 'In the upcoming year, we wish for more ingenuity and humor so that the year will be fun and lively”, concluded the members of "Zhanym."
